GC is a rapidly growing organization; affiliated with highly rated primary care physicians, specialty providers, and premium in network hospitals. Incorporated in 1993, Global Care Medical Group IPA is systematically organized by the experienced MedPOINT Management team and currently has over 90,000 contracted patients. With approximately 500 Primary Care Providers and 2,300 Specialty Providers, GC is a full service network with provider agreements in place for all lines of care programs, i.e. Commercial (EPO, PPO, Covered California), Point of Service (POS) Seniors (Medicare Advantage, Cal Mediconnect), Medi-Cal, Healthy Families, Access for Infants and Mothers (AIM) etc.. Our Background and History
Global Care (GC) traces its history back to 1991, when the State of California Department of Health Services (D.H.S.) requested the organizers of the company to assist in the development of a large Primary Care Case Management (PCCM) organization.
The proposed PCCM organization was intended to serve a large geographic area in the State of California, with a particular focus on the Greater Los-Angeles area. This request led to a comprehensive study of the health care delivery system within the targeted communities and the development of a proposal recommending strategies in addressing public health issues in the area. Today, GC is on the frontier of finding comprehensive and lasting solutions within complex health care management matters.
